ENVIROTHON!

Beautiful weather and nature welcomed students to the 2025 Area 5 Envirothon. The event was held at Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park in Franklin County on May 9th.  Pike County schools participating in this year's event were Waverly High School (Advisor Christopher Murphy, Jacob Knight, and Trevor Arnett w/1 team); Piketon High School (Advisors Ally Shaw and Kristen Campbell w/2 teams); Eastern Pike (Advisor Bill Legg w/1 team).

The Envirothon is an outdoor, academic event testing high school students', grades 9-12, knowledge on aquatics, current environmental issues, forestry, soils, and wildlife. Competitions are held throughout Ohio as Area events. Those placing in their Area competition advances onto the Ohio Envirothon.
